Delivery and shipping services deliver billions of packages and letters during the holiday season. To make sure gifts arrive on time for Christmas, it is important to keep in mind these shipping deadlines dates.

To avoid packages arriving after Christmas Day, here is a list of USPS, FedEx and UPS shipping deadlines for 2021.

USPS says that in order to ensure mail is delivered by Dec. 25, those using USPS Retail ground shipping should ship their packages by Dec. 15, first-class mail by Dec. 17, priority mail by Dec. 18 and priority mail express by Dec. 23. This excludes Alaska and Hawaii.

FedEx will be offering a special same-day shipping option that can be sent anytime, including Christmas Eve and arrive by Christmas Day. Otherwise, it recommends having normal shipping ready to go by Dec. 15 to make it by Dec. 25.

UPS recommends that people using the normal pickup and delivery service should have their mail shipped by Dec. 20. There will be the option of its UPS 3-Day Select service, UPS Second-Day Air, UPS Next Day Air and UPS On-Call Pickup.

UPS 3 Day Select service needs to be shipped by Dec. 21, UPS Second-Day Air shipped by Dec. 22, UPS Next Day Air by Dec. 23 and UPS On-Call Pickup by Dec. 24.
