With everyone having a busy schedule right before the start of the holiday season, it is essential to know how much time one has before getting those presents in the mail. Missing the deadline for shipping the presents could mean a complete one day delay before shipping providers open their doors.

Below are the nationally posted service and shipping schedules for the major shipping companies.

United Parcel Service (UPS and UPS Brown): This year, UPS said it would not provide regular deliveries on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The company also does not deliver on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. On Christmas Day and New Year's Day only UPS Express Critical services are available. Click here to find a local UPS to call and ensure the packages can be picked up or delivered.

United States Postal Service (USPS): The USPS said post office locations nationwide will be closed Sunday, Christmas Eve and Monday, Christmas Day. Priority Mail Express will still be delivered on both days but regular mail will not be delivered Monday.

All post office locations will be open and resume regular mail delivery on Tuesday, Dec. 26.

For New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, post office locations nationwide will be closed and all post office locations will be open and resume regular mail delivery on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018.

Mail will not be picked up from collection boxes on New Year’s Day, Monday, Jan. 1. Regular mail will not be delivered on New Year’s Day, except Priority Mail Express. Priority Mail Express mail will be delivered on Sunday and Monday.

FedEx: This shipping company is closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Check the website for further details and specialized services.
