KEY POINTS

  • "Valheim" is the latest survival game that's currently blowing off the Steam chart
  • Adventurous players explore different parts of the world map to discover the unknown
  • Some "Valheim" players voyaged to the edge of the world map in"Valheim"

"Valheim" features a procedurally generated expansive world, which is an enormous circle where players spawn in the middle of it and at the start of the game. Several players shared their experiences and discoveries when they reached the edge of the game's world map. Unfortunately, learning about the mystery veiled at the edge of the world map and beyond requires a tragic sacrifice.

Unlike in the real world, the world of "Valheim" is flat, enabling players to sail off its edge literally. This is a frustrating truth, especially for those who make a long voyage to various foreign lands. But, what really happens to players who sail off the end of the map?

Unfortunately, reaching the end of the world map causes immediate death. Players planning to start their voyage to this spot should reconsider, especially if their boat is packed with hard to obtain resources and items or if they are equipped with higher-tier weapons and armor. Should they die, players will lose all the hours of effort and hard work.

"Valheim" player Steinfus got on his Viking ship and went out to troubled waters. In the video available below, players can see what's at the edge of the world map. Steinfus is also seen trying his best to turn the ship around to avoid it but to no avail. At some point at the edge of the map, the sea spills into nothingness.

The game developer somehow discourages players from venturing out into the edge of the map. On the northern edge of the world map approaching the North Sea, players encounter icebergs and floes that can cause massive damage to the ship. Beyond that is a troublesome area where players will experience a series of violent storms.

While the area is not impossible to navigate, it is certainly a clear warning, suggesting that players should go back and not proceed. Unfortunately, when players reach this point, it is too late to spin the world around. A strong, vicious current drags players away and carries them to the abyss, to their destruction. It appears that somewhere down below that pit of nothingness may not be hell but definitely not Valhalla.
