Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright have been fired from “Vanderpump Rules.” The announcement comes after cast members, fellow stars Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute, were ousted from the cast over racist actions towards Faith Stowers.

On Friday, Taylor confirmed his exit from the show via an Instagram post. In a post featuring several photos, the 41-year-old thanked the network for his time on the reality show.

“The last 8 years on Vanderpump Rules have been some of the most challenging, rewarding, and fulfilling years of my life. Although this is difficult to share, Brittany and I will not be returning for another season of ‘Vanderpump Rules,’” he wrote.

“We are excited to take this time to focus on our growing family and share with you our new endeavors. @bravotv, @evolutionusa, and our Vanderpump castmates will always remain close to our hearts.”

Taylor went on to thank his supporters who stood by him over the years. “Thank you to all the fans who have shared our journey with us and supported us through everything,” he said.

“We love you. Stay tuned, We can’t wait for to share what we have planned.”

However, his fellow cast members Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix had “no idea” the network planned on firing Taylor and Cartwright. They learned about the news a few moments before an interview with Hollywood Life.

In the middle of attempting to teach the reporter how to make the perfect cocktail, they reflected on the breaking news. “We saw [the news] literally right as I was about to click on [HollywoodLife’s] page. But we don’t — We know as much as you,” Madix told the reporter.

The 35-year-old went on to reveal she had no indication Taylor and Cartright would be removed from the cast.

“Literally, as I was about to click on your page I was like, ‘Oh, [Jax and Brittany are] going live,’ saw it, and that’s it. So we’re here. We don’t know. We have no inside. We’re out of the loop…but yeah, crazy,” she continued. Tom added, “We had no idea!”

On Friday, a Bravo spokesperson told Variety, “Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright will not be returning to ‘Vanderpump Rules.’

Like Schroeder and Doute, Taylor was accused of racism. Schroeder and Doute were fired months ago after it was revealed they called the police to accuse Stowers of a crime she didn't commit. Taylor falsely accused her of a crime in a tweet in 2017, which was resurfaced after Schroeder and Doute were axed.
