“Vikings” Season 5 has released its preview for episode 13, titled “A New God.” This is the episode in which Ivar the Boneless (Alex Høgh Andersen) will put on the crazy war paint that was teased in the trailer. There will also be a mysterious sacrifice that the new king of Kattegat will offer to his people.

The following article contains spoilers from the previously released episodes of “Vikings” Season 5 and a preview of the upcoming episode 13.

Ivar will settle down well in his role as the new king of Kattegat in “Vikings” Season 5, episode 13. A preview video that has been posted on Facebook for the loyal “Vikings” fans shows the king talking about offering a sacrifice. But who will Ivar kill? It certainly appears to be someone well-known, judging by his conversation with his brother.

The menacing war paint of Ivar at the time of the sacrifice is enough to strike fear into the hearts of the people of Kattegat. It remains to be seen who the king will kill in this spectacle for the people.

Hvitserk, played by Marco Ilsø, looks uncomfortable in the “Vikings” Season 5, episode 13 preview. As a son of Ragnar (Travis Fimmel), Hvitserk too appears to have ambition to rule. Ivar has already announced that he will soon become a father, which establishes him as the undisputed king, and this grand spectacle he is planning for the people of Kattegat may help him further consolidate power in the eyes of the people.

Will Hvitserk leave Ivar in “Vikings” Season 5, episode 13? The trailers of “Vikings” Season 5 have already hinted at the possibility of a betrayal.

Meanwhile, things aren’t going so well for the other sons of Ragnar. King Alfred (Ferdia Walsh-Peelo) will ask his guests to convert to Christianity by getting baptized. The trailer shows just how angry Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) will be on hearing this “request” by the king. Ubbe (Jordan Patrick Smith), however, will embrace the new faith.

Meanwhile, the love story of Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) continues. Bishop Heahmund (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) is aware of a Viking army on the march, which means there will be another battle to fight in the future.

Meanwhile, Winnick shared a few stills on Instagram of her character in loving embrace with Bishop Heahmund. Lagertha could have chosen to go with Rollo )Clive Standen) previously, but she declined at that time. Winnick shared a still from the previous episode of her character and Rollo on Instagram.

What is missing in the “Vikings” Season 5, episode 13 preview video is Floki (Gustaf Skarsgård) and his people in Iceland.

"Vikings" Season 5, episode 13 will air on Wednesday, Dec. 12 at 9 p.m. EST on the History channel.
