“Star Wars: Episode 9” has all fans so excited that any bit of information about the cast members is seen through the lens of the movie, making people see what they want to see. This is exactly what happened when John Boyega, who plays the role of Finn in the upcoming film, shared a video of himself working on a set with blue screen. Contrary to what some may believe, this video is not from the beloved franchise.

The first impression that a viewer gets from watching Boyega’s video on Instagram is that he is working on a movie. The actor is in a black jacket and boots and is surrounded by huge blue screens that are typically found on the sets of sci-fi movies. Since the actor isn’t filming any other movie that requires the use of this technology, some fans and media outlets assumed that this was for “Star Wars.”

There is no audio in the clip, and Boyega just captioned the video with the word “working,” without elaborating. While this may seem like it is from “Star Wars: Episode 9,” a little investigation will reveal why this isn’t so.

First off, Boyega isn’t wearing his trademark brown leather jacket that he got from Oscar Isaac, who plays Poe Dameron, in “The Force Awakens.” The other big clue comes from another video that Boyega posted on Instagram that appears to be from the same set. Here, the actor clearly mentioned that this is a promo video for Cisco.

Why the blue screen for a Cisco video? This video on the company’s official Instagram account will answer that question. Boyega is wearing the same clothes that he wore in the video that some assumed was from “Star Wars: Episode 9.” However, he is actually talking about using technology to build bridges rather than the fight to take down the First Order.

Boyega has, in the past, shared pictures from the production set, like this family photo from the set of “The Last Jedi” on his Instagram page. However, the first teaser or behind-the-scenes video may be released by Lucasfilm or by the director before the cast members are allowed to share anything.

Filming of “Star Wars: Episode 9” is currently ongoing, with Director JJ Abrams back at the helm to finish the new trilogy that he started. Abrams is yet to share a teaser or a behind-the-scenes look of the film. Fans will remember that he previously shot a video on the set for a social cause. A video titled “Force for Change” posted on YouTube was shot on the set of “The Force Awakens,” giving the viewers a glimpse of some of the alien creatures they built.

“Star Wars: Episode 9” will be released on Dec. 20, 2019 in the U.S.
