Virgin Galactic, the world's first commercial spaceline, has appointed its first Chief Financial Officer.

Kenneth H. Sunshine, former CFO at MDA Information Systems, National Institute of Aerospace and Aurura Flight Sciences, joins the company, bringing with him a wealth of experience in the space business with him.

Sunshine is expected to carry out CFO duties such as managing financial strategies and growth, and transitioning Virgin Galactic from a development project to a commercially operational business.

Ken Sunshine commented on his appointment, "Virgin Galactic is the clear leader in the new commercial manned space industry, and as such, I can think of nowhere I would rather be working."

Virgin Galactic is owned by Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Group and Aabar Investments PJS.
