KEY POINTS

  • "The Walking Dead" Season 10, episode 16 may be released by October
  • Jeffrey Dean Morgan expects a battle in the finale
  • The producers may announce the release date after the lockdown ends

There is still no official word yet about the release date of “The Walking Dead” Season 10, episode 16. Filming has already been completed, and cast member Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who plays Negan, suggested in a recent interview that the finale will air in a few months.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Morgan said that he and the others had fun filming the finale episode. Although the filming is over there is still the postproduction process that is left, and Morgan doesn’t know when that process will be completed.

Morgan believes that the work on the finale should be done in four to five months, which means the TV series should be released before October. “It will be cool having a one-off, almost a ‘Walking Dead’ movie in the middle of the season, I guess,” he said.

As far as the plot is concerned, Morgan pointed out that there has to be a “resolution” for Beta (Ryan Hurst). The character was last seen on a path of revenge with a horde of zombies on their way to kill all the heroes.

“The Walking Dead” Season 10, episode 16 was directed by Greg Nicotero, and Morgan said that it will be a “big massive episode.” With Beta’s journey, Morgan pointed out that there has to be some sort of a battle. The actor didn’t want to reveal if this story will continue in Season 11.

The plot of the show is based on the comics, but there have been slight changes to make it fit the TV format and also keep things interesting for the fans. One of the ways the heroes can defeat the massive horde of the Whisperers is by leading them into the ocean, Screen Rant reported. Two characters who may play an important role in the final battle are Gabriel (Seth Gilliam) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan).

While the fans wait for the shows return, they can re-watch all the previous seasons. AMC recently signed a deal with Pluto TV to allow all the episodes to be made available to be streamed on the platform, Variety reported.

As for “The Walking Dead” Season 10, episode 16, the producers may announce the release date after the lockdown ends.
