Stocks ended down on Friday as financial companies were hit after a court ruling that voided two home foreclosures and as data showed disappointing jobs growth last month.

Based on the latest available data, the Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was down 22.55 points, or 0.19 percent, at 11,674.76. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> was down 2.35 points, or 0.18 percent, at 1,271.50. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> was down 6.72 points, or 0.25 percent, at 2,703.17.
