U.S. stocks remained lower on Wednesday after data showed the pace of growth in the U.S. services sector was unchanged in April compared to March.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was off 42.18 points, or 0.39 percent, to 10,884.59. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> fell 6.67 points, or 0.57 percent, to 1,166.93. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> slipped 21.73 points, or 0.90 percent, to 2,402.52.
