Walmart (WMT) is giving its Walmart+ members some new perks that will help them save at the pump as the price of gas continues to trend upwards.

The retail giant is now offering a major gas discount through its Walmart+ membership, saving members up to 10 cents on every gallon of fuel they purchase at participating fuel stations effective immediately.

Previously, Walmart offered Walmart+ members up to 5 cents off a fuel purchase.

The fuel discount will also be available beyond Walmart and Murphy’s gas stations, with 12,000 Exxon and Mobil fuel stations nationwide added to the Walmart+ program. Now a total of more than 14,000 fuel stations will accept the Walmart+ discount program – a more than sixfold increase, Walmart said.

Walmart+ members will now save 10 cents per gallon at Exxon and Mobil stations, from 5 to 10 cents at Walmart and Murphy’s stations, with member discounts also offered at 500 Sam’s Club gas station locations.

“Ninety-one percent of our customers are aware of the increased prices at the pump and nearly of those told us they are changing behaviors because of them,” Chris Cracchiolo, senior vice president and general manager of Walmart+, said in a statement.

“More access to a bigger discount will make a difference for our customers. We want Walmart+ to help our customers save time and money, not only when they’re shopping with us, but throughout their day,” he said.

A Walmart+ membership also offers subscribers free grocery delivery from Walmart stores, free shipping from Walmart.com with no minimum order, prescription discounts, six months of Spotify Premium for free, early access to Walmart sales, and Scan & Go contactless checkout, among other benefits.

A Walmart+ membership costs $98 a year or $12.95 a month.

In comparison, an Amazon Prime membership, which offers same-day, one-day, and two-day delivery on millions of products, two-hour grocery delivery, prescriptions discounts, member deals, as well as a selection of movies, music, and TV shows, costs $139 per year or $14.99 per month.

The news of Walmart’s fuel discount through its Walmart+ service comes as the national average price of gas reached $4.134 on Wednesday, according to the American Automobile Association (AAA).

As of Monday premarket hours, shares of Walmart were trading at $155.72, up 42 cents or 0.27%.
