Subway is looking for nine superfans who are willing to get some permanent ink in exchange for free sub sandwiches.

The sub shop chain is giving away free subs for life, a year, or a month to nine customers who get a permanent tattoo featuring the company's logo.

On Wednesday, the first nine fans to visit Bad Apple Tattoo in Las Vegas from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and get one of three tattoo placements will win the subs. Customers can begin lining up for the giveaway Wednesday at 8 a.m. PT.

To participate in the challenge, customers must tattoo the Subway Series logo on their wrist, bicep, or foot to win free subs for a month ($372 in Subway gift cards). Those who get the tattoo on their shoulder blade, forearm, or calf will earn free subs for a year ($4,380 in Subway gift cards), and those who get a whopping 12 x 12-inch tattoo dubbed “The Footlong” on their back or sternum will win free subs for life -- a $50,000 value in Subway gift cards.

Tattoo artist and two-time” Ink Master” champion DJ Tambe or a member of his team will tattoo the logo on each participant.

“Tattoos hold a special meaning for my customers, they come to me to celebrate the things they love the most or to commemorate a major moment in their lives,” Tambe said in a statement. “Whether that's the first time trying the Subway Series, or simply eternal love for Subway, I'm here to make that a permanent part of their lives and something to showcase.”

Participants in the promotion must be 21 and older with tattoos given on a first-come, first-serve, walk-in basis. Only one “Footlong” tattoo will be available, with eight of the 3 x 3-inch or 2 x 2-inch tattoos offered.

The Footlong tattoo will have its last call at 1 p.m. PT on Wednesday, with the smaller tattoos called for at 3 p.m. PT. Participants need to sign a release and agree to Bad Apple Tattoo’s policies before the tattoo will be performed.

In addition to the sub giveaway, Subway will be holding a block party, where it will offer free 6-inch subs from its new Subway Series. A DJ, dance floor, and graffiti artist will also be on hand, as well as the opportunity to get an airbrush tattoo for Subway fans who want a less permanent way to show it.

Subway introduced its Subway Series subs earlier in July and gave away a million free sandwiches with the launch. The Subway Series includes 12 new sandwiches with pre-selected ingredients that can be ordered by name or number.
