Vampire Diaries Klaroline
Caroline and Klaus shippers were thrilled with the hints left by the “Vampire Diaries” series finale. The CW

“The Vampire Diaries” is over, but vampires are immortal. Caroline ended the CW drama alive and well, and she was given a pretty clear hint that Klaus is still waiting for her. Could the character make the switch to “The Originals”? Showrunner Julie Plec isn’t opposed to it.

“My hope is ‘The Originals’ will stay on and that I can bring some of these characters over there,” Plec told Entertainment Weekly. She is already bringing one character over. Alaric (Matt Davis) will appear in Season 4.

The series finale of “The Vampire Diaries” ended with flash forwards for all the characters. Caroline (Candice King) and Alaric turned the Salvatore mansion into a boarding school. Supernatural children will be attending, and Klaus made a $3 million donation to help Caroline with her educational endeavor. He also wrote a sweet letter that read:

Dearest Caroline,

I have often imagined the paths your life might take, but your chosen future is more noble than I ever fathomed. Please accept this contribution to your virtuous cause.

I do look forward to thanking you in person someday… However long it takes.

Yours, Klaus

It certainly gives Klaus and Caroline fans some hope, so let’s look at Klaroline’s best moments throughout the series:

Klaus Reads Caroline’s Application: On a show that so often involves life or death stakes, it means everything when two people can laugh together. Klaus reads Caroline’s Miss Mystic Falls application aloud and puts her in a brighter mood. It’s nice to see a “TVD” couple bond over something light rather than nearly dying together.

Klaus’ Drawing: Though Caroline was annoyed with the hybrid, she couldn’t find a way to be irritated with his sketch of her and a horse. Klaus also thanked her for her honesty after their spat about Tyler and the sire bond.

Caroline Wants To Forget Klaus’ Past: Klaus is definitely the one making moves in this relationship, and Caroline often doesn’t return the affection. However, this was when she made it clear that she could have feelings for Klaus. She revealed that she could see his humanity and sometimes wanted to forget about his murderous past. “I know that you’re in love with me, and anybody capable of love is capable of being saved,” Caroline tells him.

Caroline Admits Her Feelings: This is the one kiss that Klaroline fans were given, and it’s a steamy one. Klaus returned to gloat over Katherine’s (Nina Dobrev) death, but he offered to leave Mystic Falls for good without gloating if Caroline admitted that she was attracted to him. She didn’t just declare her feelings. She hooked up with the Original vampire in the woods.

The Phone Call: Caroline and Klaus didn’t actually see each other in the “Vampire Diaries”/”Originals” crossover, but Klaus made it clear that he hasn’t given up on Caroline yet. He wasn’t petty, either, despite her finding love with Stefan. When Caroline made it clear she was worried for Stefan’s life, Klaus promised to save her beau.

With the fate of “The Originals” unknown after Season 4, it isn’t clear if fans will get the chance to see Caroline on the CW drama. However, Plec noted that she’d be happy to see any of her characters come together in another project. “I could see our universes coming together in five years, 10 years, when people miss the shows,” she said.

“The Originals” Season 4 will premiere Friday at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
