A father who was looking to thwart an alleged bully attack on his son found himself at the center of a massive fight with students at a Tucson, Arizona, school earlier this week, and it was all captured on video.

The video shows at least 30 students involved in a fight with the parent, Willie Smith, during lunch break at Tucson High School, which was later placed in lockdown for several hours after the incident, KOLD, a CBS affiliate out of Tucson, reported.

The fight broke out as Smith, 40, walked onto the high school campus to confront some students that were said to be bullying his son, who has special needs. He had received multiple reports that his son was going to “get jumped” outside of school, the Daily Mail reported.

Smith had initially been called to the school to pick up his two sons because they had been involved in a disturbance. When leaving the premises, he was asked by school officials to exit out of a back area to avoid a confrontation, KOLD said, but he refused.

Smith told school staff, “If it’s going down, it’s going down here.”

The fight then broke out as words between the family and the alleged bullies were exchanged, according to the news outlet.

In the video, Smith can be seen in a red shirt and jeans fighting off a number of high school students while other students fight each other. At one point in the video, Smith can be seen on top of a teenager, seemingly choking him, while another person tries to get him off the boy.

Smith was arrested and charged with felony disruption of an educational institute, while the 15-year-old student was charged with disorderly conduct-fighting, according to KOLD.
