KEY POINTS

  • Luka Doncic tried to argue a call with NBA referee Ashlee Moyer-Gleich
  • The interaction went viral because of Moyer-Gleich flashing a sheepish smile at Doncic
  • Doncic and the Mavericks beat the Clippers, 105-89, in that game

It would be hard to argue with anyone when they say that Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic is the complete package.

The 6-foot-7 swingman from Slovenia can score at will, and he can make plays at an elite level, already making him one of the league’s best players. At just 22 years old, Doncic definitely still has a long career ahead of him.

Another thing that Doncic has, which isn’t talked about by most basketball experts, is his boyish good looks.

Doncic is easily one of the most handsome players in the league today, and during Wednesday’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers, he tried to use his boy-next-door guise to charm an NBA referee.

In the second quarter of the game, Doncic was caught on camera conversing with referee Ashley Moyer-Gleich.

Moyer-Gleich can be seen mouthing the words “What foul?” to Doncic over and over again before breaking into a sheepish grin as Doncic turns away.

Whatever Doncic was arguing with didn’t seem to matter much at the end of the game as he was able to carry the Mavs to a 105-89 win.

Doncic had another fantastic outing as he put up 42 points, nine assists, and six rebounds to help keep the eighth-seeded Mavericks in playoff contention.

While it’s unsure what Doncic and Moyer-Gleich were really talking about, it’s clear that the two had a more pleasant discussion than what usually goes on between a player and an official.

It would be hard to imagine any NBA player having as jovial a conversation with an official like Scott Foster, who has a more unpopular reputation, so to speak, among the players.

Foster has been publicly criticized by players such as Chris Paul and Paul Pierce for his calls and the apparent bias against teams and players.

Just earlier this week, Foster was once again at the center of a controversial call as he whistled New York Knicks All-Star Julius Randle for a traveling violation late in their game against the Brooklyn Nets.

The turnover proved costly as the Nets were able to hold on to a 117-112 win.

After the game, Randle had to be restrained by his teammates from confronting Foster.
