  • Ray Allen has been helping his sons work on their shooting
  • Allen taught two of his sons some important techniques in performing an effective jump-shot
  • The two-time NBA champ has reminded his oldest son Walter about the "haters"

Ray Allen has remained hands-on on ensuring his kids are getting a leaf out of his book.

Apart from being one of the greatest shooters in the history of basketball, Allen is also a dedicated father.

In fact, he has recently been sharing clips of his basketball training sessions with his sons.

On one of the family’s latest shooting workout sessions, the two-time NBA champion had once again given his sons a few pointers executing an efficient jump-shot.

In the short video clip, Allen could be heard reminding his eldest son Walter “Ray Allen” III to keep his “shoulders down” as he prepares to take a shot.

“Get your shoulders down! [You’re] standing straight up,” Ray told Walter. “Come through with your shoulders down.”

The 10-time NBA All-Star then pointed out another technique to his younger son Wynn.

Based on Allen’s instructions, Wynn has to “stay low” and learn how to still be able to shoot even when he seems to be slowing down.

“Stay low, stay low, you’re standing up now you're getting tired,” Ray directed Wynn. “[You’re] getting tired, the energy is starting to drop. You gotta learn to shoot when you’re fatigued.”

Walter is currently playing for Gulliver Prep in Florida. As expected, Ray has been proud of his son’s progress.

Aside from some basketball techniques, Ray has also let Walter aware of the “haters” as early as now.

“I’m so proud of my son [Walter],” the NBA Hall of Famer wrote on Instagram. “He has grown a lot over the last few years in hoops and he continues to grow.”

“When I posted the videos, you wouldn’t believe the negative comments because his jum-pshot wasn’t mine,” he added. “He is working everyday at how to shoot so he can be a better version of me. I am helping him through the process everyday.”

“The one thing I continue to teach him is haters exist everywhere so no matter how good you get, they will decide that they don’t like you,” he continued. “For whatever reasons people hate, but I am here to tell you all, the hate continues to make him stronger! So if any of you are dealing with haters, use the negativity to fuel your fire.”

Last year, Ray already assured his followers that Walter has been training like an “animal” and has already improved his shooting “form.”

“He really didn’t have that much of a jump-shot. [But] he’s got his form,” Ray revealed of Walter in a video last year. “We’re working on that but it’s a step process. Everybody’s not gonna shoot like me or shoot like Steph [Curry] or shoot like Reggie Miller you know. Even between the three of us, we all have different forms.”
