“Saturday Night Live” turned President Donald Trump into Ebenezer Scrooge in last night’s cold open, and he was visited by the ghosts of Christmas past, present and yet to come — sort of.

In the Dec. 2 cold open, Trump’s (Alec Baldwin) first visitor is Michael Flynn (Mikey Day), the ghost of witnesses flipped. Trump knows he did something wrong, so he lists off a bunch of his controversies, but Flynn is here to get him “to come clean for the good of the country.”

Flynn had a great life before the FBI started investigating, and Trump wishes someone had warned him about Flynn. The former national security adviser points out that Obama had told Trump not to hire Flynn, but Trump says he doesn’t take advice from non-Americans.

Flynn reveals that there are many ghosts from Trump’s past that could haunt him, and he’ll be visited by three tonight. First up is Billy Bush (Alex Moffatt), the former Access Hollywood host. “Can you believe I got fired just for listening to you?” Bush asks. “And then you got elected president, and now you’re saying that that tape isn’t even real?”

SNL cold open
Trump (Alec Baldwin) was visited by Putin (Beck Bennett) in the “SNL” cold open on Dec. 2. NBC/Will Heath

Bush reminds Trump that he could be “fired, fired, fired” soon, and then Melania (Cecily Strong) interrupts to brag about her holiday decorations. “It’s a beautiful festive hallway of dead branches and mysterious shadows, and when you open the elevator, blood comes out,” she says.

After she leaves, Trump is visited by Putin (Beck Bennett), the ghost of his present. The Russian president tells the American president to chill out and stop being so rude to North Korea. However, Putin disappears when Trump asks if he seems cool.

Finally, the scariest ghost arrives, the ghost of Trump’s future. Hillary Clinton (Kate McKinnon) is delighted as she talks about Trump’s demise and says “lock him up!”
