“Saturday Night Live” Season 43 is back! After taking off for Thanksgiving, the series is back on Dec. 2, and an award-winning actress will take on hosting duties.

Saorise Ronan will host “SNL” this week. She is promoting her new film “Lady Bird,” which has plenty of Oscar buzz around it. Ronan plays a teen who wants to get out of her hometown in the coming-of-age movie.

While the movie is pretty dramatic, it has some lighter elements than Ronan’s other well-known films like “The Lovely Bones” and “Brooklyn.” Audiences will really get to see her flex her comedy muscles when she hosts the NBC variety show.

Ronan has been hard at work all week with the show, and she revealed that the pace of the production surprised her. “It’s mental. It moves so quickly, it’s amazing,” she said Tuesday on “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”

When Meyers asked about Ronan’s favorite sketches, she listed quite a few. “I love all of Kristen Wiig’s sketches. She’s the best,” she said. “So Target lady and Sue and Penelope and ‘just kidding.’ They’re all so good, and the cowbell obviously. Like, there’s so many great sketches. The Californians is probably one of my favorites.”

Ronan isn’t the only Ireland native on “SNL.” Irish band U2 will be the musical guest this week. Bono and the boys are promoting their 14th studio album, “Songs of Experience,” which came out Friday.

“Saturday Night Live” fans now have new libations they can sip while watching the show at home. Lot 18 revealed earlier this week that they have a new “SNL” collection of wines available for pre-order. There’s a Stefon Beaujolais from Burgundy, a Debbie Downer Australian Chardonnay and The Californians Monterey County Merlot as well as a Live From New York It’s Saturday Night California Red Blend.

That wine will be good for fans who need something to hold them over through winter hiatus. There will be new episodes of “SNL” through Dec. 15, but then the show will head into a holiday hiatus until the new year. Find out who will host the new episodes HERE.

“Saturday Night Live” airs Saturdays on NBC at 11:30 p.m. EST, 10:30 p.m. CST, 9:30 p.m. MST and 8:30 PST.
