The Weeknd is single again after his split from Selena Gomez.

On Monday, the "Starboy" singer took to Instagram to share a rare selfie following his breakup from Gomez. The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, didn't say much in his caption and did not comment on the split. "Toronto Nights," he wrote.

Earlier that day, a source close to the "Bad Liar" singer confirmed that The Weeknd and Gomez have already split. "They're done. It wasn't going to last," the insider told Entertainment Tonight. "During the kidney stuff, Selena really relied on her friends as opposed to The Weeknd. He just wasn't really available to drop everything he had going on to be with her full-time."

The insider added that The Weeknd continues to support his ex-girlfriend. However, Gomez is with her friends most of the time, and her group of pals never really approved of the singer. "He was supportive and sweet of course, but it was really a journey with her and her friends -- especially Francia [Raisa]," the source continued, adding that Gomez's pals "never really liked" The Weeknd.

"He's not a part of the church group and didn't really mesh with her friends. And at this point, those friends and her faith mean everything to her," the source continued.

While The Weeknd struggled with winning over Gomez's group of friends, her other ex, Justin Bieber, doesn't have the same issue. In fact, last week, Gomez and the "Baby" crooner reunited with their mutual friends at Gomez's home in Studio City.

On Sunday, Bieber and Gomez were also spotted going to church together. Earlier that day, they grabbed breakfast together.

"He has been great to her since her surgery and they are on good terms right now. They got back in touch recently through their friends and have seen each other at church," an insider told Us Weekly.

Bieber and Gomez are reportedly just friends. However, some believe that there is a chance they may rekindle their romance now that the exes are both single. "The ball is in Selena's court right now," a source close to Gomez said. "She was happy with The Weeknd but Justin always has the biggest piece of her heart."

Meanwhile, The Weeknd is reportedly "upset" that Gomez is spending more time with Bieber. "Abel is upset about Selena hanging out with Justin, especially twice in the same week," one insider said.
