Evan Rachel Wood does not really need to amp up the hype for HBO’s “Westworld” Season 2, but when she did, fans only got even more excited to catch it in a few months’ time.

“You are really, really in for it,” she shared when she appeared at TIFF Bell Lightbox in Toronto, Canada. “I had no idea, I thought, ‘God where are they gonna go from here, how are they gonna top this?’ — first five minutes of the first episode, [I thought,] ‘Oh, they’ve done it!’”

Wood already fell head over heels in love with her character in Season 1, but Season 2 made her appreciate Dolores Abernathy more. “It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done, especially season two, actually because she’s even more complicated, if you can imagine. I described being on season two as being on ‘The Deadliest Catch’ boat while being a contestant on ‘Chopped.’”

She then described her character as the “most pure, innocent, bighearted, passionate person” she knows. Wood has grown so attached to Dolores that when she’s done filming, she found it hard to let go. “I care about the show so much, and this character I’ve gotten to love, so much,” she said. “When I put on that blue dress, kind of something happens, and I definitely disappear; actually, when season two wrapped, I didn’t want to take it off.”

Next season, Dolores’ old flame, William (Jimmi Simpson) will be back. “I mean, yeah, I pop in,” Simpson said during an interview with The Wrap, although quickly adding, “I’m gonna shut up” about any spoilers.

Another character who will be back is William’s future brother-in-law, Logan (Ben Barnes). He was last seen riding naked on a horse while all tied up for being such a jerk to William. Many presumed the ride would kill him, but a good many others believed it was not the end of Logan.

But Barnes confirmed with Screen Rant that he is going to reprise his role. “I definitely have heard because I can tell you that I have been on set at least once already,” he said.

“Westworld” Season 2 premieres on HBO in Spring 2018.
