Following the Season 7 finale of “When Calls the Heart,” the show’s star Erin Krakow took to social media to reveal whether the show has been renewed or canceled. The series fans will be happy to learn that it will return for Season 8.

“From my heart and home to yours, I’m thrilled to announce the all-new Season 8 of ‘When Calls the Heart’ coming next year,” said Krakow, who plays Elizabeth Thorton in the network original. "We can’t wait to see you back in Hope Valley.”

The actress also thanked all the fans who tuned in to the show’s latest season and noted that production for the upcoming season will occur when the coronavirus pandemic passes.

She tweeted: “#Hearties I know that was a lot to take in all at once! Thank you so much for joining us for Season 7. We’re so happy to get to return to Hope Valley (when it’s safe to do so) to create more @WCTH_TV for all of you in Season 8! Thank you so much for all of your support!”

Jack Wagner, who stars as Bill Avery, also celebrated the show’s renewal.

“WoooHooo Season 8 [hands up smiling emoji],” he wrote.  "Thanks to all of you!! Such a pleasure to share this journey with you all [OK emoji.] Sending you all a ton of Love & please stay safe [prayer hands emoji]”

If you’re still in disbelief, writer and producer Derek Thompson also commented on the news.

As previously reported, the show’s creator, Brian Bird managed to rally the support of his fans with the hashtag #Season8WouldbeGreat.

The hashtag has led a number of fans to reach out to the network through Twitter. One fan mentioned the network and Bird in a tweet.

She wrote: “Don’t ever stop When Calls The Heart! It’s the best show on cable and a big part of Hallmark! I have felt like the characters are my friends, I feel so close to them:)They’re the best!”

Bird reacted to the news of the show’s renewal by thanking his supporters.

On Sunday, he tweeted: “#Hearties what can we say but God bless you? You are the best fans in the world & we hope to continue partnering with you on @WCTH_TV & @whenhopecalls for years to come. You are the reason they're succeeding. Keep the faith & keep pushing for more! @hallmarkchannel @SCHeartHome”

Pascale Hutton, who plays Rosemary Coulter, told My Devotional Thought’s writer Ruth Hill what she would like to see if there’s an eighth season.

“I think we’ve seen in Season 7, you see Lee and Rosemary try to move on and find value in their life without children, which is what it is at this particular moment,” Hutton explained. “I would like for there to be at some point in Season 8 for the two of them to find more resolution on that topic. Whether that’s moving ahead and adopting a child or whether a miracle happens and they are able to conceive. Or whether they find something else that they’re able to be equally passionate about and invested in that doesn’t involve a child. I just really think that we need to see the two of them consciously make a decision to move towards something on that topic.”
