Netflix has finally announced when “Altered Carbon” Season 2 is hitting and fans should start getting excited because it’s coming sooner than they think. While a teaser or promo still remains on the horizon, the cyberpunk epic’s sophomore season is coming just next month.

Season 2 of “Altered Carbon” will contain 8 episodes and will star Anthony Mackie as protagonist Takashi Kovac. The season will be able to be viewed in its entirety on Thursday, Feb. 27 according to IGN.

The plot of season 2 follows sometime after season 1, where Kovac has searched for his long-lost love and commander Quellcrist Falconer (Renée Elise Goldsberry) from planet to planet. He eventually ends up on Harlan’s World, his home planet, where the events of season 1 intertwine with his new objective as one giant conspiracy.

It was first announced that there would be a second season of the successful Netflix series when it was already well underway with production, according to Digital Spy. It was then we found out who our next leading man would be: Mackie, taking over from Joel Kinnaman in season 1. The two actors play the same character, a body-swapping mercenary from space whose journey spans centuries.

Also confirmed for the second season is fellow Marvel star Simone Missick, who will play Tepp, an expert bounty hunter. She previously worked as Misty Knight in Marvel’s “Luke Cage” and “The Defenders.” James Saito will play Yakuza boss Tanaseda Hideki; Lela Loren will play governor Danica Harlan; Dina Shihabi will play AI program Dig 301; Torben Liebrecht will play antagonist Colonel Carrera’ and Chris Conner will play Edgar Allen Poe copy and Kovac-ally Poe.

The episode titles for season two have also been announced, and are as follows:

  • 202: “Payment Deferred”
  • 203: “Nightmare Alley”
  • 204: “Shadow of a Doubt”
  • 205: “I Wake Up Screaming”
  • 206: “Bury Me Dead”
  • 207: “Experiment Perilous”
  • 208: “Broken Angels”
