Shark Week fans can start counting down. Discovery Channel has officially set dates for their most anticipated event of the year, and it’ll start in just a couple months.

Shark Week 2019 starts Sunday, July 28 on Discovery Channel. The network will air more than 20 hours of fin-tastic programming over eight nights. Shark Week 2019 will conclude on Sunday, Aug. 4.

Discovery revealed that comedian Rob Riggle will return. He was in a special last year with Shaquille O’Neal, and he’ll be diving with other celebrity friends this year on the “ultimate Shark Trip,” the network teased. In past years, Michael Phelps, Bear Grylls, the “Shark Tank” cast and Ronda Rousey have appeared, so a few more familiar faces might be announced before Shark Week starts swimming.

As always, Shark Week will mostly focus on working with experts. “Discovery Channel continues to work with nearly two dozen of the world’s most respected marine biologists and science institutions to bring brand-new, innovative shark research technology and compelling insight on some of the most unique shark species in the world,” the press release revealed. Shark Week specials will include a search for Deep Blue, the world’s largest great white shark, and use “the first ‘drone-towed’ seal decoy.”

The Shark Week 2019 announcement also revealed that Discovery will continue to team up with ocean-loving organizations. The network is working with two charities: Oceana, which works to protect the sharks from the global fin trade, and Ocean Conservancy, which aims to keep plastic out of the ocean and clean up the coasts with the help of volunteers.

Shark Week celebrated its 30th anniversary last year and brought in over 34.9 million viewers, the network reports.

The first commercial for the summer event was released Thursday. Viewers can watch the promo at the top of this page.
