College basketball’s regular season has come to an end, meaning March Madness is right around the corner. The 2022 NCAA Tournament field will be revealed on Selection Sunday, which is now less than a week away.

Selection Sunday is set for March 13. The complete 68-team field will be announced on CBS at 6 p.m. ET, laying out the entire March Madness bracket and all of the first-round matchups.

The NCAA Tournament starts with the “First Four” games on March 15 and 16. Eight teams will be in action, and half will be eliminated before the first round starts on March 17.

Heading into the conference tournaments, several teams find themselves on the bubble. One or two wins this week could be the difference in making the NCAA Tournament.

Xavier, Wyoming, Rutgers, and SMU are the last four teams in the field of 68, according to ESPN’s Joe Lunardi. Six days before selection Sunday, Lunardi projects Indiana, BYU, Dayton, and Virginia Tech to be the first four teams out of the NCAA Tournament.

Virginia, Florida, VCU, and Texas A&M need some help in order to take part in March Madness. Michigan, Memphis, Wake Forest, and Creighton are likely in the NCAA Tournament, but that could change with an early exit in their respective conference tournaments.

It wasn’t long ago that North Carolina was viewed as a potential bubble team. That has changed with a five-game winning streak for the Tar Heels, culminating with an upset at Duke in Mike Krzyzewski’s final home game.

Duke is among a handful of teams that are in contention to earn a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
