One of the best traditions of the holidays has finally arrived—ugly sweater season!

Ugly Sweaters, according to Time, first came to be around the 80s, but faded from popularity throughout the 90s. However, the trend began to pick up steam once more since 2001, with ugly sweater parties growing around that time. The trend has since continued throughout the years, and are especially popular during the holidays.

While themes behind the sweaters can vary, there’s never really any doubting just how “ugly” they can actually be. Thankfully, because the trend has become so popular, there’s not only a style for every partygoer, but there are also ones that perfect for every budget.
