Much has been made about where she might potentially say her vows, but it appears when it comes to location, Princess Beatrice is sticking to tradition, despite reports.

While attending the BFI London Film Festival gala this week, Beatrice’s mother, Sarah, Duchess of York, revealed that she was pretty certain her daughter’s 2020 wedding to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi would be in the UK since it was more of a tradition.

“It can only be Britain,” she said at the event (via Express UK).

The confirmation that the couple would likely be tying the knot in Britain comes after reports surfaced that the pair might actually wed in the groom’s home country of Italy. However, if the pair did choose to wed there, it would mean that her grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, could not attend the ceremony.

According to the reports, because the Queen no longer travels overseas, she wouldn’t be able to attend the event if it didn’t occur in London, meaning that despite her gladly attending the weddings of Prince William, Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie in recent year, she would not be on hand for her other granddaughter’s nuptials.

However, while the wedding happening in the UK would be a good thing for Beatrice when it comes to having her grandmother and grandfather there, it doesn’t mean things are going to be smooth during the planning process—or that other members of the family will even be present.

The Princess has been reported to be in a long-standing feud with Kate Middleton that stems back to the Duchess of Cambridge’s own wedding in 2011, and she is also unhappy with her cousin, Prince Harry, and his wife, Meghan Markle, whom she felt stole her sister’s thunder during her wedding last October by using the event to officially confirm they were expecting their first child.

As a result, reports have surfaced that claim that Beatrice doesn’t even want the Sussex family to attend her wedding as a result, and she could consider rescinding their invitation.

“Tension has been brewing between Harry and Meghan and the York girls for months now,” sources said. “Beatrice has confessed to friends that if she gets her way, they won’t be invited.”
