David Pryce, the ex-boyfriend of “16 and Pregnant” star Valerie Fairman, spoke out after the 23-year-old tragically died Wednesday from a suspected overdose.

“I wish that I could have done more for her, that’s basically how I feel,” Pryce told Us Weekly in an exclusive interview Thursday. “She was trying so hard. … It’s a lifelong problem.”

“All I have to say about Valerie is people don’t know how she really was,” Pryce added. “She was very loving. She was very insecure. She always wanted to go places with me and just kind of hang out. Always wanted to be near me. She was a very, very good woman. She would just talk. She was very, very intelligent, which surprised me that she would end up like that.”

Pryce, who dated Fairman for 9 months three years ago, mourned the former reality star on Facebook Wednesday. “I will always miss you Valerie and I am want to tell anyone who is selling s--- to people to stop,” he wrote. “We have lost too many loved ones to what you are doing and I am going to start taking care of it.”

Pryce is the uncle of Matthew, the biological father of Fairman’s 7-year-old daughter, Neveah. Matthew has not issued a statement since Fairman’s untimely death.

She was found unconscious in a friend’s bathroom in Coatesville, Pennsylvania. The friend, whose name wasn’t revealed, broke down the door when Fairman didn’t answer.

A week before her overdose, Fairman was arrested for resisting arrest and giving false identification to police. Last year, she was arrested for prostitution in Delaware.

Fairman’s daughter is currently staying with her grandmother.

“Teen Mom 2” stars like Chelsea DeBoer and Jenelle Evans, who appeared on the same season of “16 and Pregnant” as Fairman, mourned the former reality star on social media Thursday. “Teen Mom OG” star Farrah Abraham also issued a statement the same day.
