On Monday, "Today" anchor Hoda Kotb announced that is she is engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Joel Schiffman. The pair have been together for six years and are parents to two adopted daughters, Haley Joy and Hope Catherine.

"I have to tell you something that a friend of mine, a friend of ours, asked me to let you guys in on a secret," she told her co-hosts, including Savannah Guthrie, Jenna Bush Hager, Craig Melvin, and Al Roker. "I'll give you her initials. Her initials are Hoda Kotb, and she's engaged," she then added.

Kotb, 55, revealed that Schiffman proposed over the weekend during a vacation. "We ended up having a little dinner on the beach. And he was like, 'I have something else I would like to say,' and he said some beautiful things, and then he got down on one knee. Then he said, 'Would you be my wife?'" she revealed after making her announcement.

"I was totally shocked," she additionally shared, "He had a good poker face."

As for Schiffman's background, O, The Oprah Magazine notes that he is a 61-year-old American financier who is "the Head of U.S. Defined Contribution and Insurance Sales at an investment management company." The outlet also reported that the two met at an event that she "didn't want to go to." At that time, she had to give a speech and sign a few autographs, but before leaving, the two met.

At this time, it is unclear when the wedding will take place.
