The FBI and law enforcement officials in Colorado were seeking an 18-year-old woman Tuesday who was “infatuated” with the Columbine attack and made threats in the Denver area. Several schools, including the Columbine High School, were put under lockdown.

The FBI Denver Division and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office identified the woman as Sol Pais and said she was considered armed and dangerous. Authorities said Pais traveled to Colorado on Monday night "and made threats in the Denver metropolitan area."

The incident came just days ahead of the 20th anniversary of the Columbine High School shooting. Two teenage gunmen attacked Columbine on April 20, 1999, killing 13 people — 12 students and a teacher. It remained unclear how authorities learnt about the woman's alleged infatuation with the Columbine school shooting.

After nearly three hours of lockdown, Jefferson County school officials tweeted that all students and staff were safe, and that students were scheduled to be released on a normal schedule.

The FBI’s Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force issued a notice Tuesday, saying police who come into contact with the woman should detain her and evaluate her mental health. She was last seen in the foothills west of Denver, wearing a black T-shirt, camouflage pants and black boots.

Jefferson County Sheriff's spokesperson Mike Taplin said the threats made by Pais were not directed to a particular school. However, authorities did not reveal other details about the threats.

"It's a credible threat ... but she did not make it directly," Jenny Fulton, a spokeswoman with the sheriff's office told CNN. "There may be some connection to Columbine but it wasn't a specific directed threat towards Columbine."

According to records, cited by the New York Times, Pais is from Surfside, Florida, in Miami-Dade County. The Miami Herald reported that a man answered the door at her address Tuesday night and identified himself as her father. He told the Miami Herald he had lost contact with Pais on Sunday. “I think maybe she’s got a mental problem,” he told the news outlet. “I think she’s going to be O.K.”
