A CNN poll released Thursday reveals that President Joe Biden’s approval rating from Jan. 10 to Feb. 6, 2022, is 41% -- the lowest since he took office in 2021.

The poll surveyed 1,527 people via web and phone. When asked, “Do you approve or disapprove of the way Joe Biden is handling his job as president?” 58% responded that they disapproved to only 41% who approved and 1% offered no opinion.

When asked, “What, if anything, has Joe Biden done as president that you disapprove of?” 26% responded with nothing and 21% said the economy. Breaking down the economy section, 6% responded that they disapproved of Biden on student loan debt, where he has pushed aside many of his campaign promises to ease student debt.

Four percent said they disapproved of Biden’s handling of stimulus and spending programs, saying there were not enough spending programs. Three percent responded they were concerned about rising prices/inflation, 2% were concerned about Build Back Better legislation and 2% were concerned about gas prices.

On COVID, 10% of responders said they disapproved of Biden’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic, which has killed 911,000 Americans. Also, 2% thought his response was too weak while 1% thought his response was too strong. Four percent said they disapproved of Biden’s vaccine mandates.

On foreign policy, 7% disapproved of Biden’s handling of the war in Afghanistan, where he received backlash for how the U.S. pulled out of the war and let the country fall under Taliban control. Two percent disapproved of his handling of the ongoing Russia/Ukraine standoff.

When asked, “What, if anything, has Joe Biden done as president that you approve of?” 56% answered with nothing. Fifteen percent approved of Biden’s handling of the economy and economic policy, with 7% of respondents approving of Biden’s relief/stimulus bill and 3% approving of the child tax credits.

When broken down on a scale of those who approve strongly to disapprove strongly of the president’s handling of his job, 15% of responders approved strongly, 27% approved moderately, 12% disapproved moderately and 41% disapproved strongly.
