Kate Middleton has been wearing an old ring again.

The Duchess of Cambridge has been seen wearing different items from Queen Elizabeth II’s collection. However, many noticed that she has been wearing an old ring that is not part of the royal collection.

Middleton has been seen with a citrine ring, which she was first photographed wearing in 2002. The said ring that features a very large citrine stone costs around $26,000 and the duchess has owned it even before she married Prince William.

“Media reports have suggested that this ring is a new addition to the Duchess of Cambridge's collection, but there is proof she owned it already, as she was photographed wearing it on a night out with Pippa in 2008,” Ben Johnson, Managing Director at Miltons Diamonds, told Express.

The expert believed that Middleton started to wear it again for personal reasons. It’s possible that it has sentimental value for the duchess.

“If the Duchess did own this prior to her marriage, perhaps she has rekindled love for her own pieces. It could be of sentimental value as a piece of jewellery that is hers alone and not borrowed from the Royal family's collection,” he explained.

Also, the citrine rock represents optimism and it’s a good symbol when one directs personal will and decisiveness. This is another reason Middleton wears it on occasions when she is not accompanied by her husband, Prince William. The expert added that Middleton is an experienced royal and she is capable and independent.

Meanwhile, last Wednesday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited Bradford. Many noticed that Middleton sported another mysterious wound because a plaster was spotted on her hand. It wasn’t the first time the duchess wore the less-than glamorous accessory.

In related news, Prince William and Middleton are reportedly planning to have a distraction trip following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s exit. The couple have been subjected to more pressure from Megxit and want to have a break. The Cambridges are set to fly to Ireland in March and they will stay there for at least two days.
