It's a sad day for the "Jersey Shore" community as Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi announced she is retiring from the hit MTV show.

The 32-year-old shared the news and what led to the decision during Friday's episode of her podcast, "It's Happening with Snooki & Joey."

"So here comes my breaking news, you guys. There's reasons why I've come to this decision... it's definitely a hard decision... I'm gonna throw up," Polizzi began. "OK, you guys, I love you so much and don't hate me for my decision, but I have to do what's best for me at the moment, and I am retiring from Jersey Shore."

"I am not coming back to Jersey Shore [Family Vacation] for a season four if there is one," she continued. "And there's a lot of reasons why, but the main reason is really, I'm just like...I just can't do it anymore."

One of those many reasons would be her three-children -- Lorenzo, 7, Giovanna, 5, and six-month-old Angelo.

"I hate being away from the kids, I don't like partying three days in a row, it's just not my life anymore," the 32-year-old star shared. "And I wanna be home with the kids. I don't mind a here or there going to a dinner or whatever, but it's just really hard on me to leave the kids and film the show."

Snooki added that she wasn't a fan of how she was being portrayed on "Jersey Shore" lately and didn't like that it was becoming more about drama than having fun. Safety also seemed to be a concern for the reality star.

"... People take it too seriously to like where I'm getting death threats with the kids," she revealed.

Although this OG has decided to "retire" from "Jersey Shore," she reassured her podcast listeners that it's not the end of reality television for her.

"Do not be mad at me," Snooki said. "There's gonna be a ton more things, you know, that I'll probably be working on."

"Jersey Shore Family Vacation" Season 4 will premiere in 2020.
