Although Meghan Markle is still on maternity leave since she gave birth to baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, Prince Harry has been traveling and making various royal appearances.

While some appear to look down on Harry’s trips away from his wife and new baby, one of his friends praised the Duke of Sussex for juggling his professional and personal life.

Prince Harry and his pal Nacho Figueras were in Italy on Friday for the Sentebale Polo Cup match. While speaking with reporters, Figueras defended the 34-year-old, whose trip marked the first night away from his newborn son.

“I am a father of four and sometimes duty calls, this is 24 hours away from the house, I think he’s doing just fine. He’s a wonderful father and very present and he’s here for an amazing cause so I don’t see that as a problem,” he said.

Although Harry remains dedicated to fulfilling his royal duties, Figueras noted that his friend is not the same person he used to be. “Being a father always changes you, he seems to be very, very happy, I think this is a very exciting part of his life,” he explained.

“He was ready for it and I think he’s loving it. I always thought that he would be an amazing father because he has a great affinity for children – two weeks is very, very soon but I’m sure he’s changed.”

Despite the changes Archie has caused, Figueras appeared confident about Prince Harry’s parenting abilities. “He’s doing great. Sleeping, you should ask him, but I think he’s doing great,” he revealed.

“I just saw him, he’s ready for the game and had a good night’s sleep, so we’re excited about being able to do a great job today for Sentebale, which is why we’re here.”

Although Prince Harry has made several appearances since Archie’s birth, it is unclear when Meghan will return to her royal duties. However, there has been some speculation that she could make her first public appearance in June.
