Despite the birth of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, his relatives, Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles continued to carry out their royal duties and attended all of their scheduled engagements.

Although the Royals fulfilled their commitments, Archie’s highly anticipated birth seemed to outshine their appearances.

Royal producer Lizzie Robinson told ITV’s “The Royal Rota” that Prince William and Kate’s May 7 appearance at the King’s Cup Regatta launch was “overshadowed” by Archie.

“We saw William and Kate out and about last week but again, during their visit – they were launching the King’s Cup at the Cutty Sark in London – they talked about Archie. Again, that slightly overshadows their visit,” she explained.

Prior to Archie’s birth, Prince Charles and Camilla made an important trip to Germany in relations to Brexit. However, the media appeared more interested in talking about the royal baby rather than reporting the new information.

“Charles and Camilla went to Germany on a very important visit – they got massively overshadowed by the baby,” Royal correspondent Chris Ship revealed.

“That was all about Brexit and British relations with Germany, a key country in the European Union. Very much overshadowed by this whole thing. Making a speech about future relations, meeting Angela Merkel – it was a very important royal news story and none of us could cover it.”

Although Meghan has finally given birth to the royal baby, the public’s interest in her and Prince Harry’s lives has yet to die down and continues to overshadow senior royals.
