Why Princess Anne Gets Little Press Coverage Despite Being Hardest Working Royal
Princess Anne is one of the hardest working royals for the past couple of years. But unlike the other members of the royal family, she rarely receives as much press coverage.
On the online forum site Quora, royal fans are wondering why this has always been the case. Terry Darwin, a self-employed sole trader, said that he isn’t surprised by the fact that Princess Anne doesn’t get much press coverage because the media is all about selling stories.
“It’s an indictment of our society that glitz and glamor sell more easily than rolling up your sleeves and doing the dirty work. Maybe she prefers to graft quietly in the background carrying out the less glamorous engagements,” he said.
Steph Waite, a royalist, said that Princess Anne doesn’t get much press coverage for the simple reason that she’s not the Duchess of Cambridge or the Duchess of Sussex. And as such, the media is less interested in her life.
But even though she doesn’t get much press coverage, there’s an upside to this. Princess Anne is able to go about her life and work without the awful scrutiny of everything she does, wears, and says.
Freddy Alexander, a royal fan, said that he has the highest regard for Princess Anne. And the lack of press coverage just makes it seem as though she does things with genuine empathy rather than because it’s her royal duty.
Graham Short, a micro artist, said that Princess Anne doesn’t get much press coverage because she doesn’t make unreasonable demands and she also doesn’t try to modernize the monarchy.
“She doesn’t upset the staff to the extent that they walk out, doesn’t choose the pieces of Diana’s jewelry she believes she’s entitled to wear, doesn’t bring Kate to tears, doesn’t tell the Queen she will not need her experienced physicians, doesn’t tell members of her staff they can’t use a car park they have used for years, and more,” he said.
