  • Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank recently moved to their new home in Portugal, a report says
  • The move came after Brooksbank landed a new job with multimillionaire property tycoon Mike Meldman
  • Princess Eugenie will continue to work as a director for the London art gallery Hauser & Wirth on a hybrid basis

Princess Eugenie and her family will be splitting their time between the U.K. and Portugal as they start an exciting new chapter.

Princess Eugenie, her husband Jack Brooksbank and their 1-year-old son August recently moved to their new home in the exclusive resort CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Club, located an hour south of Lisbon on the picturesque Portuguese coast, The Telegraph reported.

The couple moved to Portugal after Brooksbank — a former ambassador for Casamigos, the tequila company founded by George Clooney and Rande Gerber — landed a new job with multimillionaire property tycoon Mike Meldman, one of Clooney's business partners.

Brooksbank is now working for Meldman's Discovery Land Company, which has been developing the 722-acre plot between the Portuguese villages Comporta and Melides since 2019.

"Jack is now working for Mike Meldman and they are splitting their time between Portugal and London," an unnamed source told the outlet. "It's a very exciting time for them."

The Atlantic coast club Princess Eugenie's family now calls home "offers a wide range of real estate options, from large estate homesites to contemporary coastal villas, turnkey club residences and custom luxury homes," according to its website.

"The combination of our unmatched environmentally thoughtful setting, family-focused experience-based lifestyle, and true exclusivity, make ownership here one of the rarest opportunities in Europe," the website added.

Despite the move, Princess Eugenie, 32, will continue to work as a director for the London art gallery Hauser & Wirth on a hybrid basis with the couple staying at Ivy Cottage at Kensington Palace when they are in the U.K., according to The Telegraph.

This isn't the first time Princess Eugenie has lived abroad. The youngest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson spent two years living in New York City when she worked as a specialist at Paddle8, an online auction house, People reported.

Her older sister, Princess Beatrice, also split time between the Big Apple and London previously.

Princess Eugenie and Brooksbank had moved into Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Frogmore Cottage home in Windsor before welcoming their son August in February 2021.

"Frogmore Cottage continues to be the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's residence in the U.K., and they are delighted to be able to open up their home to Princess Eugenie and Jack as they start their own family," an unnamed source told People in 2020.

Just recently, Prince Harry and Markle renewed their lease on the property, which is near Queen Elizabeth's Windsor Castle home.

The Sussexes' move sparked rumors that they may be planning to spend more time in the U.K. with their children, Archie, 3, and Lilibet, who will turn 1 Saturday.

It's also been suggested that they renewed the lease because Prince Harry is among the Queen's four Counsellors of State and is required to have some type of residence in the country to continue his role in that capacity.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be flying to London this week along with their two young kids for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
