KEY POINTS

  • Kim Kardashian confirmed that she voted but did not name the presidential candidate she supported
  • Several Twitter users believe she voted for Donald Trump because she wore a red shirt in her election photo
  • Other netizens were hoping she voted for Joe Biden while some think she supported her husband Kanye West

Kim Kardashian just voted and she didn't announce the candidate she supported, but many Twitter users believe that she voted for Donald Trump, not her husband Kanye West and not the Democratic candidate Joe Biden.

Kardashian shared a photo of her on election day announcing that she just voted on Twitter. But unlike other celebrities who revealed the candidate they supported, the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star didn't name any candidate. However, many were convinced that she voted for Trump simply because she wore a red dress in the original photo she posted that she has since concealed by making the image black and white.

"She voted for trump obviously," one commented.

"The fact that you posted the same pic with color earlier and your top is the color red giving your followers the hint that you are in fact voting red is just such a let a down and to be quite honest it’s irresponsible knowing the climate that we are in," another user wrote.

Meanwhile, many also defended Kardashian. For them, she probably hid the color of her shirt to not influence the other voters.

"She's still doing her law apprenticeship and probably didn't want to get caught up in people accusing her of 'electioneering.' Apparently her wearing red was being read (no pun intended) as a partisan endorsement," one wrote.

"Colour suggests republican, she doesn’t want to be associated with either, she’s neutral, she’s giving people their own opinions rather than voting on the basis of ‘KimK must be republican bc her dress is red, i must vote trump so i can be like her’," another commented.

Despite the hints, Twitter users are still torn about who Kardashian voted in the election. Some speculated that she supported her husband, others said she probably voted for Biden. But more are convinced that she voted for Trump because she has been a Trump supporter.

In an interview with David Letterman for his Netflix series "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction," Kardashian shared that she received warnings when she decided to work with Trump's administration for prison sentencing reform. She still did it despite the threats that people would cancel her.

Letterman is an open critic of Trump, but Kardashian never said anything ill against the incumbent president during the interview. Instead, she said she was grateful for the administration for its work on criminal justice reform and she hoped to continue working with the White House on clemencies.
