Kim Kardashian impressed Van Jones when they first worked together three years ago.

The "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star and the CNN host, who were romantically linked earlier this year, teamed up in 2018 for a meeting on prison reform with then-President Donald Trump. The process was showcased in the new documentary, "The First Step."

An unnamed source told Page Six that the KKW Beauty mogul's "poise and persuasiveness" during their preparations for the sit-down and the meeting itself left a lasting impression on Jones.

"Van was blown away by Kim’s poise and persuasiveness in such a critical meeting with Trump," the insider said. "That moment truly solidified their relationship and laid the groundwork for them to keep working together to reform the criminal justice system."

In the documentary, which recently premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, Jones and Kardashian appeared friendly right from their first meeting

"I got the Hollywood kiss down," he told Kardashian while giving her a double kiss. "Don’t ruin the makeup," she jokingly replied.

The lawyer also discussed with Kardashian, an aspiring attorney, how they would pitch the First Step Act to Trump since the latter had other matters to handle.

"The president can stay with this issue and get stronger on it or it can fall off the radar screen," Jones told Kardashian. "We just have to keep this candle lit. It doesn’t have to be the biggest torch in the room, but it’s got to stay lit."

During an interview of them together that was featured in the doc, Jones appeared impressed by Kardashian's statements and could be seen nodding in agreement as she spoke.

Meanwhile, rumors previously surfaced that the reality star had moved on from estranged husband Kanye West with the CNN host. However, during the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" reunion special Thursday, she shot down rumors that she is dating Jones or singer Maluma, People reported.

"Van texted me and was like, 'This rumor has gotten me so many dates and I'm so grateful,'" Kardashian said, as host Andy Cohen interrupted, "There are rumors that you're dating Maluma."

"No, I'm not dating either one - not Van Jones, not Maluma," she replied. "I've known him, I've seen him a few times, always in Miami, such a nice guy. So nice."

Kardashian also said that she and West have an "amazing co-parenting relationship" following their split.

"That was my friend first and foremost for a long time, so I can’t see that going away," she told Cohen. "I will forever be Kanye’s biggest fan. He’s the father of my kids. Kanye will always be family."

Kardashian filed for divorce from West in February. They have four children: North, 8, Saint, 5, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 2.
