Modest Mouse and Brand New will embark on co-headlining tour this summer in the U.S., which begins at the end of June. While fans are excited about the upcoming shows, many have started to wonder if both bands will put out new music before the tour begins. Could new Modest Mouse and Brand New albums be on the way?

Modest Mouse released their first album in eight years in March 2015 when the band put out "Strangers to Ourselves." Lead singer Isaac Brock revealed to HMV that although they had just put out a brand new album, the band was already working on another record.

"I’m pretty far along with the next one as it is. I went in to making this one with two records in mind," Brock said. "It’ll be released as quickly as it’s legally allowed to be. It’s a partner to this one."

The partner album has yet to be released, but it's expected to be out sometime this year. Brock told Hot Press in March 2015 that the next record would feature Nirvana bass player Krist Novoselic and could be called "Whatever."

While Modest Mouse went several years without releasing a new album, Brand New has had a similar streak going. Fans have been craving a new album since the band last released "Daisy" in September 2009.

According to Absolute Punk, members of the band were spotted in the studio in October 2015. Guitarist Vincent Accardi was shown doing puzzles in studio in a picture posted on Instagram by producer Mike Sapone, who has worked with the band on all four of their studio albums.

Although no new album has come out recently, Brand New has still been treating their fans to some new music. Last year, the band released a song called "Mene" in April and on Dec. 2, they put out "Leaked Demos 2006." "Leaked Demos 2006" were originally untitled tracks that went out before the release of their 2006 album, "The Devil and God Are Raging Inside of Me."

No release date has been revealed for their new album, but it could possibly be the band's last. According to Alternative Press, lead singer Jesse Lacey told the crowd at a show in Nashville in October 2015 that the band might be coming to an end soon. He also said the next time they play shows they'll have a new record out.

"Things will be different the next time we play. I'll have a brand new daughter. The next time we play, we'll have a new record for you," Lacey said. "But this won't last much longer. We can't do this forever."

Modest Mouse and Brand New will tour together from June 28 to July 31. Tickets for the public sale begin Friday, Jan. 29, at 10 a.m. For more information on how to get tickets you can visit Modest Mouse or Brand New's website.
