French luxury label Dior is said to be on the verge of finalizing a contract to replace Belgian designer Raf Simons in place of former creative director, John Galliano.

Although there are no official announcements by the brand, there are reports that the 43-year -old designer is finalizing dates and other details of the contract.

Couture designer Galliano was sacked in March after he had been accused of making anti-Semitic comments at a Paris cafe. Following the incidence, the designer was immediately suspended from Dior till the investigation was over. The luxury house stated that the company had a zero-tolerance policy toward anti-Semitism.

Later, Dior officially announced the dismissal of Galliano. Since then, there have been frequent speculations regarding the succession of the designer at the fashion house.

Names like Hedi Slimane, Haider Ackermann, Riccardo Tisci, Stefano Pilati and Azzedine Alaïa have been associated with the brand, but there has been no formal announcement till date.

If the collaboration between Dior and Simons finalizes, it will lead to a marked change in the brand's design culture. While Galliano was known for his elaborate and dramatic creations, Simons is a strict follower of the minimalist looks and the contemporary fashion culture.
