  • Willian may announce move to Emirates Stadium after Champions League match
  • Chelsea firm on two-year deal offer to Willian
  • Willian set to join David Luiz move from Chelsea to Arsenal

Willian Borges da Silva is fast slipping away from the clutches of Chelsea F.C. and a final decision is expected after the Champions League. His contract officially ends on Sunday but reports are ripe that the 31-year-old will be headed to Emirates Stadium next.

According to BBC, there is no agreement between Willian and Arsenal. However, there is the growing belief he will be following David Luiz who moves from Chelsea to Arsenal.

Ina previous report, the Blues allegedly offered Willian the three-year he wanted. However, it was also stated there that it was way short of terms compared to what Barcelona and Inter Miami pitched.

Now, the latest reports claim that Chelsea still stood on their previous stance of sticking with a two-year offer. Willian made it clear that only a three-year contract would make him stay. It turns out Arsenal is the one ready to give him just that and hence the reason why the Gunners are now said to be on the verge of signing the 31-year-old player.

Lampard tried to persuade Willian to stay but it appears that was not enough to convince the Brazilian. The Blues coach even asked management to end the impasse in the renewal but to no avail. According to ESPN, the switch should be announced soon.

On Willian's end, seeking a three-year deal is understandable. It could be the last time he can negotiate for a big deal due to his age. Though he is still efficient, the wear and tear of the game are slowly sinking in. Proof of that is his current injury, preventing him to see action in the FA Cup final. Likely, he will not be available in the Champions League match as well.

Since signing with the Blues, Willian has made 339 appearances. He has been part of Chelsea's major honors, including two Premier League titles. He has also won the club's player's player of the year twice.

If Willian does officially leave, it would be a blow to Lampard's plans. Though he already has Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech, he may have to push himself further to fill up the midfielder void. Kai Havertz has been mentioned but there has been no update given in that pursuit.
