A woman in India chopped off her live-in partner's genitals after he allegedly tried to rape her minor daughter, reports said.

The 36-year-old unidentified woman from Bareilly, a city in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, admitted that she bobbitized her live-in partner after the latter tried to sexually assault her 14-year-old daughter, news outlet The Times Of India reported Thursday.

The woman said she found the man attempting to rape her daughter when she got back from the farm Wednesday. "I was working on the farm when the incident took place. Fortunately, I returned home in the nick of time and caught him red-handed," she explained.

However, the woman believes that she did what exactly she needed to do and has no regrets. "I was trying to save my daughter and hence got hold of a kitchen knife and chopped off his penis to teach him a lesson. I have no regrets for what I did," she reportedly told investigators.

The woman also claimed that her partner tried to attack her when she was trying to save the girl. "He even attacked me while I was trying to save my daughter, so I brought a knife from the kitchen and chopped off his private parts," she said.

Meanwhile, the police booked the woman's 32-year-old live-in partner on charges of rape of a minor girl, News 18 reported. According to reports, the condition of the accused is critical and he has been shifted to another hospital for further treatment.

However, it is not clear if the police have registered a case against the child's mother or if she would be facing any charges in connection with the incident.
