A Texas woman was arrested after she allowed a 62-year-old man to sexually assault her five-year-old daughter in return for $400.

According to the Ector County Sheriff’s Office records, the incidents took place between 2017 and 2019, the last of them Jan. 7.

Shirley Harmon, 36, was arrested earlier in March for failing to report the assault and was charged Monday with “felony aggravated sexual assault of a child.” Gary Landreth, the 62-year-old man, on the other hand, was taken into custody Jan. 14 and charged with sexual assault. He posted bail Jan. 24, Odessa American reported.

During a forensic interview conducted in Harmony Home Child Advocacy Center, the child said Landreth touched her inappropriately on several occasions. During police interrogation after her arrest, Harmon also admitted to allowing Landreth to inappropriately touch her daughter. She also stated that her daughter told her several times that the man hurt her, but she ignored her daughter’s cries and continued to allow Landreth to meet the child. She also admitted that she received $400 to let the man meet the girl.

Harmon was held at the Ector County Law Enforcement Center on a $50,000 bond.

In a similar incident in September, an Indiana woman was accused of allowing her boyfriend to molest her daughter, leaving the child pregnant at age 10. During the court hearing, the woman admitted to allowing her 34-year-old boyfriend to live with them in spite of knowing he was molesting her daughter. She did not report the molestation or the pregnancy to the authorities. The woman agreed to accept a sentence of 20 years in prison while her boyfriend was sentenced to 160 years in prison, the New York Post reported.
