Even though “Wonder Woman” is a superhero flick, director Patty Jenkins assured fans that it would still be an “epic” and “elegant” story about a woman finding herself and discovering her mission in life.

Jenkins even compared her film to three classical movies, according to io9. “It ended up being very ‘Superman.’ For me it’s ‘Casablanca’ a lot. It came up a lot. And ‘Indiana Jones.’ It’s those three films,” she said. “It’s a classic film. We’re making a classic film. We care about humor. We care about epic. We care about [heroism]. We care about arc and story. Make it elegant. Go for it. Don’t hold back.”

Jenkins also revealed that the theme song from the 1970s TV series will find its way to the movie, which stars Gal Gadot as the title character. “It’s gonna show up, although it’s an interesting thing. It is a great theme, but it is a very specific theme. So it’s not the kind of thing you can just ladle all over a little girl, or a naive person, so it has its own journey,” she said.

Meanwhile, Jay Oliva, who has directed a majority of the animated Warner Bros. movies, told Cosmic Book News that Jenkins’ movie is going to be nothing short of amazing. “I worked with Patty extensively on the film so I think its going to be great,” he said. “I think its going to be fun. I’m totally jazzed to see it on the big screen. I did a couple sequences, so I’m curious to see how they turned out. I’m just happy there is a ‘Wonder Woman’ film out!”

Oliva hopes that the film will do well enough that people would want to see an animated “Wonder Woman” movie as well.

“Wonder Woman” will be released on June 2.
