WrestleMania fever gripped the whole of North America and most of the world Sunday with World Wrestling Entertainment’s (WWE) flagship pay-per-view event drawing a packed house – a record 82,265 people - at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The show of shows from the WWE stable, at the time of writing, was entering the final stretch - with the most anticipated women’s triple-threat match between Ronda Rousey, Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair remaining on the card.

Seth Rollins defeated Brock Lesnar to win the Universal Championship and Kofi Kinston won the WWE Championship from Daniel Bryan, among the biggest highlights of the night and an absolute fan favorite. Triple H beat Batista in a no-holds barred match between the two WWE legends, while the IIconics won the women’s tag team titles.

However, WWE legend Kurt Angle’s final match as an in-ring competitor against Baron Corbin was the most shocking and left fans bitterly disappointed after the latter walked away with a victory. The match-up was heavily criticized when it was announced weeks ahead of WrestleMania, and there was not a single cheer from the crowd when Corbin pinned Angle.

The Olympic gold medalist and Hall of Famer was given a rousing sendoff but many supporters aired their disappointment on social media, criticizing WWE for making Angle lose in his final match. There would have been very few who would have bet against the Olympic champion winning, but there was one fan and he was not afraid in showing off his modest winnings.
