There’s less than 72 hours to go before WrestleMania 35 kicks off – 64 hours to be specific – and all the talk is about the potential outcomes of the top-billed matches, mainly the triple-threat match between Ronda Rousey, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch which will headline World Wrestling Entertainment’s (WWE) flagship pay-per-view (PPV). The Undertaker also remains a big part of the conversation despite no matches being scheduled for the Deadman.

There are 15 matches in total including the two Battle Royals – men and women – and apart from the main event, the other highly anticipated matches are the men’s Universal championship match between Seth Rollins and Brock Lesnar, the SmackDown title match between Daniel Bryan and Kofi Kingston and the no-holds barred match between two WWE legends Triple H and Batista.

Everything is in place for it to be one of the most hyped WrestleMania events in recent history, especially with the women’s division taking center stage. But questions still remain with regard to the absence of some true WrestleMania greats – The Undertaker and John Cena.

WWE CEO Vince McMahon was said to be keen to involve The Undertaker in some capacity during WrestleMania 35 but there has been no communication about a match for the Deadman. However, according to PW Insider’s Mike Johnson, The Undertaker will be at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, for the festivities, which is then likely to end up in the Deadman making an appearance in some form.

The Undertaker has not missed WWE’s show of shows in 19 years and is arguably the face of the event having lost just twice in over 20 appearances. He has not been seen inside the squared circle since the Crown Jewel pay-per-view in November last year.

An Undertaker-sized surprise is likely to send the WWE Universe into a frenzy at the MetLife Stadium. Meanwhile, another wrestler conspicuous in his absence is Cena, who was expected to be a part of the show after he completed his latest film commitments in Canada.

The 16-time WWE champion will be in New York for a book signing over the weekend and multiple reports have suggested that WWE is planning a surprise match for Cena. It is said to be the best kept secret of WrestleMania with not too many people aware about the plans for the former WWE champion.
