  • WWE superstar Seth Rollins was attacked by a fan after having a match with Finn Balor
  • This is the second time that the Barclays Center was witness to a fan attacking a performer
  • In 2019, Bret Hart was also assaulted by a fan while giving his speech in the middle of the ring

Seth Rollins was attacked by a fan during a live broadcast of Monday Night Raw at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on Monday, November 22.

The decorated multi-time champion was heading backstage after having a match with Finn Balor when he was jumped by a fan who had come from the far side of the titantron area.

The fan tackled Rollins to the ground and tried to land some punches, but the WWE superstar fended off his attacker by getting him in a guillotine choke attempt.

WWE referees were able to get the fan rabid fan off of Rollins before he was able to do any substantial to the superstar and bring him backstage.

Understandably enough, Rollins hurled some words back at the fan with a raucous crowd chanting expletives before he posed in front of the titantron before making his way back to the locker room.

The promotion has since issued a statement regarding the incident via Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp.

"WWE takes the safety of its performers very seriously. The individual who attacked Seth Rollins has been turned over to the NYPD and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” Sapp tweeted out.

This would not be the first time that Rollins has had a brush-up with a fan.

In 2015, the then-WWE World Heavyweight Champion was making his way to the ring when a young fan jumped over the barricade and suddenly walked alongside him before he was tackled by security.

Most recently in 2019, pro wrestling legend, Bret Hart, was also attacked by a fan while giving his Hall of Fame acceptance speech at the Barclays Center as well.
