The real score behind Jeff Hardy and his injury will reportedly be revealed on the April 30 edition of WWE SmackDown and this is expected to set the tone for the tag team titles. The Hardy Boyz are the current champions, although that may all change if the 41-year-old daredevil wrestler is seriously injured.

Several outlets have come out with practically the same thing on Hardy's injury. Most single out Jeff's troublesome knees although the severity is the one that needs to be threshed out. As mentioned in a previous report, the injury could have possibly been incurred during a live event held at Madison, Wisconsin. But there are also some who are claiming that the injury is recurring. Either way, the more important question right now is how long will the WWE veteran will be grounded, Wrestling Inc. reported.

The worst case scenario would be to hear Jeff needing to take time off to address the injury. This means that WWE SmackDown would only have one-half of the tag team champions - that being Matt Hardy. Should this be the case, it is likely that a pocket tournament would be called to determine the new tag team champions for the blue brand. Hardy could continue his team-up with R-Truth or someone else but will likely have to go through a gauntlet of matches once again.

Looking at the WWE SmackDown live roster, there are a couple of tag teams who could be the new champs. There is the team of Shinsuke Nakamura and Rusev, The B-Team, Heavy Machinery or the Colons, Pro Wrestling Sheet reported. The New Day could have been a logical team to consider. But with Kofi Kingston busy with his heavyweight title and Big E injured, Xavier Woods is left all by his lonesome. it is possible that Kingston could do double-duty but it seems he has a brewing feud with Kevin Owens as most saw on the April 23 edition of SmackDown.

If Matt is to continue tag team action, all eyes on who he would partner with. R-Truth is possible or maybe even an uncanny alliance with Woods on the New Day. There could also be someone in the locker room who could step up. Hence, WWE SmackDown should be pretty interesting to check out to see what lies ahead for the SmackDown Tag Team division.
