Xavier Woods, one of the underrated stars for the New Day, reiterated that the New Day would best be kept together in response to rumors that the triumvirate will be broken up. He believes that he, along with Big E and Kofi Kingston, have been doing well although the decision may not be his to make.

A couple of days ago, Bryan Alvarez suggested that WWE CEO Vince McMahon is allegedly contemplating on changing things up for the New Day although it was not made clear how this will go down. A breakup has been suggested the past years although a potential change in persona could also happen, F4wonline.com reported.

Until the actual plan for the New Day is revealed, anything is possible. The team could break up due to a falling out from within, meaning one could go on a title-run in singles competition. If not, one could go astray and become the prodigal son – similar to how the WWE broke up the Shield.

The Shield, composed of Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, broke up in 2014. Rollins instigated everything when he betrayed his brothers. He attacked the Lunatic Fringe and hit the Big Dog with a steel chair.

Compared to the Shield, the New Day have projected a different kind of persona. They are fun and focus on entertainment rather than the physicality that the Shield was best known for. And while some outlets are reporting this just now, Woods had already mentioned back in November why the trio should not break up via Manila Bulletin Sports.

“We get a lot of that stuff on Twitter. People ask like ‘When is New Day going to break up?’ Why would we break up? One, on some real stuff, we have the most fun ever. So if we were to break up, we would have less fun, worst chances of becoming singles champions because we won’t have our two friends helping out. And even if we were to become singles champion, it would not be as enjoyable because we would not be able to share with our friends,” Woods said.

Woods has never been known to battle in singles matches and come out on top. Kingston had his run and was even a former WWE United States champion. Big E, on the other hand, has the size to compete with the best in the WWE and come out on top. Could this be the road McMahon wants for the three WWE stars?
