  • Roman Reigns wants to fight Keith Lee in a one-on-one match in WWE
  • Keith Lee is the current NXT North American champion
  • The two came face to face at last year's Survivor Series

Although Roman Reigns is, currently, not a part of any major story, he is still one of the most important superstars in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

On the latest episode of WWE Backstage, Keith Lee was the special guest along with Booker T, Paige, Renee Young, and WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry. He revealed that Roman Reigns wants to face him in a one-on-one encounter in the WWE ring.

Roman Reigns, reportedly, was impressed with Keith Lee, who fights under the brand name NXT, when the two met at last year’s Survivor Series. It was for the first time when all the WWE brands – SmackDown, WrestleMania and NXT – fought in the Pay Per View (PPV) event.

“After that was over with (Survivor Series match), he then told me, straight up, I want a one-on-one match with you,” Keith Lee revealed in the WWE Backstage episode.

In the same episode, the reigning NXT North American champion also spoke about his dream matches in the WWE. Reciprocating to Roman Reigns' gesture, Lee said that Roman Reigns was on his list of dream matches, which includes the likes of Cesaro and Brock Lesnar.

Keith Lee was one of the stars of the 2019 Survivor Series. The NXT wrestlers also ensured they won the brand supremacy by winning four out of the seven fights on the show. However, they could not win the Survivor Series as the title went to SmackDown, led by Roman Reigns.

Keith Lee and Roman Reigns were the final competitors in the ring before the latter sealed the fight. It was this brief one-on-one meeting that led The Big Dog to want a match with the NXT star, who is also known for his work on the independent circuit, where he competed for wrestling promotions such as Evolve, All American Wrestling (AAW), and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG).
